The Vail Academy desires to serve students and their families who have a passion to learn, grow, and discover their God-given skills and talents, and who have a heart open to the love of Jesus. The Vail Academy seeks to enroll students who show evidence of academic ability and who, along with their parents, indicate an understanding of and willingness to support the mission and philosophy of the school. Consideration factors of admission will include but not be limited to; quality and length of relationship with TVA, social and behavioral development of candidate, academic suitability for TVA curriculum, multiple student consideration and ability to pay tuition. The Vail Academy admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. The Vail Academy does not discriminate against anyone on the basis of race, color, or ethnic origin. We do not promote denominational emphasis. Class size is limited to 16 students, or with board approval, 18 students. Admission Procedures: Pre-kindergarten: The goal of our pre-k program is to establish a strong foundation upon which early elementary skills can be built. We offer separate classes for 3 and 4 year olds. Students entering the 3 year old class must be age 3 by September 1, and students entering the 4 year old class must be age 4 by September 1. Exceptions are granted in special situations. The Vail Academy Pre-kindergarten is state certified and meets or exceeds all state regulations. Applicants will be considered for enrollment in the following order: 1. Children of TVA/TVC staff members. 2. Siblings of current or former students 3. Wait list applicants Requirements for enrollment: 1. Completed application and receipt of application fee. 2. Interview with parents and student. 3. Completion of financial agreements and receipt of deposit. Kindergarten/Elementary School: Admission to our kindergarten and/or elementary school will be determined after a thorough evaluation of the application and a formal interview with the parents and prospective students. Previous academic records must be supplied for students entering grades 1-5. Students applying to our elementary school will be invited, and may be required, to visit The Vail Academy prior to their interview. Applicants may also be subject to academic assessment prior to admittance. Students entering Kindergarten must be 5 by September 1st. Students entering first grade must be 6 by September 1. Exceptions may be granted in special situations. Applicants will be considered for admission in the following order: 1. Children of TVA/TVC staff members 2. Siblings of current or former students 3. Wait list applicants Requirements for enrollment: 1. Completed application and receipt of application fee. 2. Receipt of academic records. 3. Interview with parents and student. 4. Completion of financial agreements and receipt of deposit. Junior High School: Admission to our Jr. High School will be determined after a thorough evaluation of the application, previous academic records, student visitation, academic screening, references and a formal interview with the parents and prospective students. Applicants will be considered for admission in the following order: 1. Children of TVA/TVC staff members 2. Siblings of current students 3. Wait list applicants Requirements for enrollment: 1. Completed application and receipt of application fee. 2. Receipt of academic records and references. 3. Required school visit. 4. Interview with parents and student. 5. Receipt of signed conduct contract. 6. Completion of financial agreements and receipt of deposit. Tuition Assistance A Tuition Assistance Program is in place to aid families who qualify based on their annual gross income. There is a limited amount of assistance available and applications will be reviewed in the order they are received. Tuition assistance may be granted at the discretion of the administration. Families receiving assistance will be required to volunteer 5 hours per month, or as otherwise agreed upon by the administration. Only candidates who have submitted a completed application and fee will be considered for tuition assistance. Families requesting assistance must also apply and submit supporting financial documents to FACTS Management, a third party organization for review. FACTS Management will make tuition assistance recommendations to TVA but the responsibility for granting financial awards lies solely with The Vail Academy. Applicants will be advised of the assistance amount prior to the first regular tuition payment. Applicants who are accepted to The Vail Academy prior to the financial award being made will be required to pay the $500.00 tuition deposit, however, that deposit will be refunded if no financial assistance is offered. |
